The Fremont Sunday Market is a little bit of British culture we brought back with us from our ten years living in Europe and vending in markets like Portobello Road, Camden Locks and Covent Garden during the seventies. Established in 1990, the Fremont Market has evolved into a diverse European-style street market that goes all year ‘round and hosts over 150 vendors who continue to delight the crowds and treasure hunters week after week, with everything you can imagine and some things you can’t. The market is free to the public of course and goes on rain or shine. Often the rainy days are best for vendors and shoppers alike for getting down to business undistracted by the usual throngs of browsers. Against a backdrop of the multitude of shops, bistros, cafes multi-ethnic restaurants, and delightfully unexpected sculptures, Sunday in Fremont makes a grand day out.
